Biographical notes:
Lea conducted research for Klarmann in connection with the latter's editing of Zwischen Oben und Unten, a posthumous volume of collected writings by Franz Werfel. Hirsch was Associate Director of Libraries at the University of Pennsylvania; Lea corresponded with him concerning access to the Mahler-Werfel papers.
