Seymour Meyerson was employed by the Research and Development department of Standard Oil of Indiana (Amoco) from 1946 until his retirement in 1984. Thereafter he lectured and wrote about the early years of mass spec as it applied to the petroleum industry. He was active in the affairs of ASTM Committee E-14 and served as president of the A.C.S. Division of Petroleum Chemistry
