It publishes The Poetry Review and its membership is open to all. Alan Brownjohn was an officer, and served as chairman, 1982-1988.
Poet Alan Brownjohn was born in London and educated at Merton College, Oxford. He published his first book of poetry in 1961 and worked as a teacher before becoming a full-time writer in 1979. He has written poetry, reviews, and criticism, as well as two books for children.
