Biographical notes:
Emilio Grandinetti (1882-1964) was born in Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy. Before coming to America in 1907, he was active in newspaper work and socialist agitation. After his arrival in America, Grandinetti was an organizer for the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America from ca. 1914 until he retired in 1948. His union activities were centered in Cleveland, Ohio, but he was also active in strikes and organization in Chicago, Ill.and St. Louis, Mo. In addition to his union work, Grandinetti was a publicist and author. After retiring, he was editor of La Parola del Popolo (Chicago, Ill.).
