Biographical notes:

Served as private and sergeant in 1909. Had an extensive Army career, serving in many command positions. In Dec. 1942, he was assigned to the Southwest Pacific Area. From 1944-48, he was Assistant Commander of the 25th Division; on May 10, 1948 he assumed field command of the 25th Infantry Division.
