The Board of Trade statistician George Henry Wood (1874-1945) was the Secretary of the Huddersfield and District Woollen Manufacturers and Spinners Association from 1907. He was a free thinker and associate of A. L. Bowley, who read widely and was active in a variety of local radical movements. He collected wage statistics over a broad field and published much of his collected material.
