Biographical notes:

Unitarian minister and educator. A.B. University of Vermont, 1886. A.M., S.T.B. Harvard Divinity School, 1890. Minister in Portland, Ore. (1890-1898); Meadville, Pa. (1899-1904). Taught theology at Pacific Unitarian School for the Ministry, 1904-1931, also serving as Dean, 1904-1911, and President, 1911-1931. Author of two-volume history of Unitarianism.

Earl Morse Wilbur (1866-1956) graduated from the University of Vermont in 1886 and Harvard Divinity School in 1890. He was ordained to the Unitarian ministry in 1892 and served parishes in Portland, Oregon, and Meadville, Pennsylvania. From 1904 to 1931, he was dean and president of the Pacific Unitarian School, now the Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley, California. He was a preeminent scholar of Unitarian history, publishing three volumes, Our Unitarian Heritage (1925), History of Unitarianism: Socianism and Its Antecedents (1945), and History of Unitarianism: In Transylvania, England and America to 1900 (1952).
