Biographical notes:
Thomas Redman was born in 1742 to Thomas and Hanah (Gil) Redman. A New Jersey Quaker, he was imprisoned in 1776 for refusing to take an oath. His stepmother, Mercy Davis Redman (1722-1778) was a Quaker minister. John E. Redman was one of his seven children. Thomas Redman died in 1828.
