Charleston, S.C. bank incorporated in 1834. In 1926 it merged with the Carolina National Bank of Columbia, S.C. and the Norwood Bank of Greenville, S.C. to become the South Carolina National Bank.

Charleston, South Carolina bank incorporated in 1834. The Bank of Charleston later merged with other banks to become the South Carolina National Bank. Augustus Winthrop was a collection clerk and later second bookkeeper at the Bank of Charleston.
