Marilyn Clement is an activist and a professional organizer in the social justice movement. She has worked as a researcher for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in Atlanta (1966-1968), and was an organizer and later the associate director for the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organizations in New York City. In 1976, she went to work for the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) as the executive director. While at CCR the creation of programs was a priority and Clement was instrumental in the creation of the Instituto para Derechos Civiles in Puerto Rico, the Mississippi Voting Rights Project, the Movement Support Network, and the National Ant-Klan Network renamed now the Center for Democratic Renewal and the Ella Baker Legal Intern Program.
