Richmond, Cedric, 1973-
Cedric Levan Richmond (born September 13, 1973) is an American lawyer and politician serving as a Senior Advisor to the President and director of the White House Office of Public Engagement since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the U.S. Representative for Louisiana's 2nd congressional district from 2011 to 2021.
Richmond was born in New Orleans in 1973 and raised in New Orleans East, where he attended public schools. Richmond graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1991 then matriculated to Morehouse College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and the Tulane University School of Law, where he earned a Juris Doctor. He also completed an executive program at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
