St. Paul Lutheran Church (Fairfield, Mont.)

St. Paul Lutheran was organized in a log cabin on May 16, 1910 under the direction of Rev. A. G. Lunde, a circuit rider from Great Falls. There were 45 members. Services were held in homes and schools for the next five years, and the church was started on November 14, 1915. Services were initially conducted in Norwegian.

A portion of this growing congregation formed Grace Lutheran of Fairfield in 1941. Since then these two churches have been known as the Fairfield parish, with one pastor serving both congregations.
