Pearlman, George
George Pearlman was a retired machinist who became interested in the controversy over who was the "father" of Labor Day: Matthew Maguire, a machinists' union official, or Peter McGuire, a carpenters' union official. After a substantial amount of research, the results of which are documented in this collection, Pearlman concluded that Matthew Maguire was the originator of the holiday.
From the description of George Pearlman typescripts and research materials, 1891-1975, bulk 1973-1975. (Cornell University Library). WorldCat record id: 64091522
