St. Louis Post-Graduate School of Medicine and Polyclinic.

St. Louis Post-Graduate School of Medicine and Polyclinic was founded in 1884 to provide training in medical specialities beyond the level given in regular medical school curricula and also to operate a hospital for the treatment of indigent patients. Teaching and hospital care were housed in a two and one-half story building constructed for the enterprise at the southwest corner of Jefferson and Lucas Avenues. The faculty, who were legally chartered as an "association," were virtually the same physicians who owned and operated nearby Missouri Medical College.
