Viscolax Ltd , yarn manufacturer, Padiham, Lancashire, England, was incorporated as a private limited company in January 1940 , to acquire the company of Viscolax, distributors and exploiting patents, acquired from Robert Pickles Ltd. The board was to consist of five members, three nominated by shareholder J & P Coats Ltd , thread manufacturers, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, one of whom was to be the chairman, and two nominated by shareholder Robert Pickles Ltd. The registered office was at Levant Mill, Padiham, Lancashire. Records show The Central Agency Ltd , selling agents, Glasgow, Scotland, was a selling agent for the company as was La Plata Reel Cotton Co Ltd , selling agents, Glasgow. In 1943, a report showed that production of Viscolax Ltd had ceased and existing staff arrangements were being considered. It appears that the company ceased trading c1943 and was dissolved in the mid 1960s .
