Porter, Russell Williams, 1871-1949
Russell Williams Porter (b. Dec. 13, 1871–d. Feb. 22, 1949), American artist, engineer, amateur astronomer and explorer. He was a pioneer of cutaway illustration and is sometimes referred to as the founder of amateur telescope making.
