Tranter, John E.
Poet and author, born in Cooma in 1943. Described as one of the leaders in the "New Wave" in Australian poetry. He has published four books of verse: The Livin' is Easy (1964), Parallax and Other Poems (1970), Red Movie and other poems (1972) and The Blast Area (1974), a one-act play The Man on the Landing (1968) and has written several book reviews. He has also edited Poetry Australia, Transit, Free Grass and Leather Jacket.
