Irving, John T. (John Treat), 1778-1838
John Treat Irving (1778-1838), the older brother of Washington Irving (1783-1859) and the husband of Abby Spicer Furman Irving ( - ), was a New York attorney. He became a prominent lawyer and in 1821, was appointed first Judge of the New York Court of Common Pleas, a position that he held for seventeen years.
