Young, Edward
Ed Young was born 11-28-31 in China, where he lived until attending college in the United States. He attended Art Center College in Los Angeles and the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. In 1951, Young became a naturalized citizen. Young later taught in the Visual Communications Department of Pratt Institute for seven years. Among the works illustrated by Young, The Emperor and the Kite was a Caldecott Honor Book in 1968 and The Girl Who Loved the Wind was in the Children's Book Showcase in 1973.
