St. Paul and Duluth Railroad Company
Incorporated in 1877 under the state laws of Minnesota, the company was organized to acquire the property of the Lake Superior and Mississippi Railway Company. Its main line--running between Duluth and St. Paul, Minnesota--accounted for nearly two thirds of the company's total trackage when the company was purchased by the NP, in 1900.
