Biographical History
Incorporated in 1877 under the state laws of Minnesota, the company was organized to acquire the property of the Lake Superior and Mississippi Railway Company. Its main line--running between Duluth and St. Paul, Minnesota--accounted for nearly two thirds of the company's total trackage when the company was purchased by the NP, in 1900.
