Fletcher, Emily Beeler, 1828-1910
Emily Beeler Fletcher (1828-1910) was the wife of Indianapolis farmer and businessman Calvin Fletcher Jr. During the Civil War she worked as a nurse in hospitals in Nashville and Murfreesboro. She was one of the founders of the Home for Aged Women in Indianapolis.
Sarah Hill Fletcher Wagner (1854-1939) attended Northwestern Christian University in Indianapolis (now Butler University) from 1868 to 1871 and later studied in Lausanne and Weimar. In 1879 she married Theodore A. Wagner, a physician from Luxembourg who settled in Indiana first in Lafayette and then in Indianapolis.
