Emily Beeler Fletcher (1828-1910) was the wife of Indianapolis farmer and businessman Calvin Fletcher Jr. During the Civil War she worked as a nurse in hospitals in Nashville and Murfreesboro. She was one of the founders of the Home for Aged Women in Indianapolis.
Sarah Hill Fletcher Wagner (1854-1939) attended Northwestern Christian University in Indianapolis (now Butler University) from 1868 to 1871 and later studied in Lausanne and Weimar. In 1879 she married Theodore A. Wagner, a physician from Luxembourg who settled in Indiana first in Lafayette and then in Indianapolis.
Emily Fletcher (1857-1927) attended Northwestern Christian University. She was active in the D.A.R. and in several women's clubs in Indianapolis.
Calvin Fletcher, Jr. (1826-1903) was a son of early Indiana settlers Calvin Fletcher and Sarah Hill Fletcher. He attended Brown University and farmed south of Indianapolis and in Spencer. He was instrumental in building the Indianapolis and Vincennes Railroad. In 1849 he married Emily Beeler; they had four children, including Sarah Hill and Emily.
