Mühl, Emil, 1855-1894
Emil Mühl was born in Hermann, Missouri on February 13, 1855. He enrolled in a medical college in Indianapolis, graduating with honors in 1881. Upon graduation, he signed up for a duty tour as a civilian "contract surgeon" with the army and was stationed near Kingston in the New Mexico Territory. At the end of this assignment, he established a private medical practice in Albuquerque. After practicing in Albuquerque, he moved to the mountains of northern New Mexico, where he served as a resident doctor for a mining company located at Copper City.
