Universal Negro Improvement Association. Central Division, New York.

International self-help organization founded in 1914 by Marcus Garvey (1887-1940) in Jamaica. After moving to New York City in 1916, Garvey began to organize divisions of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (U.N.I.A.) throughout the United States.
