Parish, William Jackson, 1907-1965.

William Parish, teacher, writer, lecturer, historian, economist, and civic worker was best known as a scholar and gentleman. His legacy is memorialized at the University of New Mexico's William J. Parish Memorial Business and Economics Library. William Jackson Parish was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania in 1907. He received degrees from Brown University and Harvard. He joined the faculty of the University of New Mexico in 1943, serving in succession as assistant professor and associate professor of economics and business administration, as professor of business administration, as acting head of the Department of Economics, as dean of the College of Business Administration, and finally as dean of the Graduate School. William Jackson Parish died in Albuquerque on May 4, 1964. Collection includes photograph of Emil Amberg, November 1937.
