Wrightsville and Tennille Railroad Company.

The Central of Georgia Railway, formed from its predecessor, The Central Rail Road and Banking Company of Georgia in 1895 was a dominant force in the economic life of Georgia and parts of Alabama through the mid-twentieth century. Through its many branch and subsidiary lines, land holding companies, and agricultural experimentation, it controlled much of the region's transportation and was a strong influence in the rural development of the area.

(Cont.) On September 27, 1881, the Wrightsville and Sun Hill Railroad Company was incorporated. The Company received its charter on December 22, 1883 and changed its name to the Wrightsville and Tennille Railroad Company. By 1885, the Central Rail Road and Banking Company of Georgia owned the majority of stock in the Company.
