Self-employed as a residential and commercial properties broker in Stockton (1947-1991). Member of National Association Real Estate Boards, International Real Estate Federation, President, University of California Real Estate Advisory Committee, member of Build America Better and National Solar Energy Advisory Committee. Active in Republican politics, Robbins lobbied against Open Housing (1964) and for the Jarvis-Gann Initiative (1978).
