Hebrew Free Loan Association (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
The Hebrew Free Loan Association was formed in 1887 as an organization whose purpose was to grant interest free loans to deserving individuals, both Jewish and non-Jewish, in need. In the beginning, the loans were granted in small amounts for food, rent, and healthcare, but later money was given for the resettlement of refugees.
