Rochester Conference on High Energy Nuclear Physics (Third and fifth: 1952, 1955)

The first Rochester Conference on High Energy Nuclear Physics was held at the University of Rochester in New York on December 16, 1950. The first seven meetings continued to be held there at approximately annual intervals until 1958. As the international character of the meetings increased they began to move to cities such as Geneva (1958, 1962), Kiev (1959), Dubna (1964) and Vienna (1968), and it became known as the International Conference on High Energy Physics. The last meeting was held in Madison, Wisconsin in 1980.
