Lomen embark for Nome. 1903 The other members of the Lomen family, with the exception of George, arrive in Nome. 1914 formation of Lomen and Company on August 13, 1914 to commercially raise and market reindeer. 1914 1921 Lomens purchase 8,693 deer. 1921 1932 Gudbrand J. Lomen is federal district judge for the second judicial district (Nome) of Alaska. 1923 Lomen and Company become Lomen Reindeer and Trading Corporation. 1927 second reorganization of Lomen Reindeer Corporation. 1928 Carl J. Lomen marries Laura Volstead. 1929 1935 Canadian Drive commences with the signing of a contract with the Canadian government, and terminates with the delivery of 2,382 reindeer to the Canadian authorities. 1930 subsidiary companies organized with the Lomen Reindeer Corporation as the "holding company" for Lomen Reindeer Corporation, Arctic Transport Company, Alaska Livestock and Packing Company, and Nunivak Development Company. 1934 Gudbrand J. Lomen dies. 1937 U.S. House of Representatives passes and appropriation bill of $2,000,000 to purchase the reindeer herds of non-native owners. 1940 U.S. Department of Interior, Charles Burdick agent, purchases the Lomen herds. 1947 George Lomen dies. 1950 Alfred Lomen dies. 1951 Mrs. Gudbrand (Julie) Lomen dies. 1965 Carl J. Lomen dies.
