Waber, Bernard
Bernard Waber was born on September 21, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia College of Art from 1946-1950 and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts from 1950-1951. He married Ethel Berstein in 1952 and has four children. He is the award winning author and illustrator of dozens of children's books. Waber began his artistic career as a commercial artist for Conde Nast Publications and Seventeen. He has also been a graphic designer and served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 achieving the rank of staff sergeant.Biographical Source: Something About the Author, vol. 95, pp. 214-218.
