Green family.
Owners of the estate known as "Green Hill" in Worcester, Mass., since 1754 until 1905 when it was purchased by the city to be used as a public park known as Green Hill Park. The estate consisted of approximately 500 acres of land with a farm, stone quarry, and large mansion. The residence was begun by Dr. John Green in 1757 and enlarged by Elijah Green and Andrew Haswell Green. After it was sold to the city, the 42 room mansion was used for parties, dances, and entertainment. The building was torn down in 1957 due to deterioration.
