Hill, W. G. (William G.)

P.B. Marple recruited a band of forty men in Umpqua Valley to blaze trail to Coos Bay with avowed intent of colonizing that region. Group formed themselves into Coos Bay Company, each paying $250 for membership. Nineteen made first trip to Coos Bay. Some remained while others returned for families. Oregon pioneer, William G.
