Title: Papers, 1907-1986.

This collection contains biographical information, correspondence, publications, reports, and exchanges. The correspondence, with other Iowa State faculty members, relates to collecting and maintaining books for the library and with colleagues associated with him while active in library committees and the American Library Association (ALA). Dr. Brown wrote numerous papers throughout his career focusing on research libraries, libraries during the depression, rural libraries, and libraries (budgets and purposes) during World War I and World War II. Dr. Brown's papers and reports focus on college libraries, ALA activities, and the National Diet Library of Japan. The exchange files refer to a program that allowed Iowa State College (University) to exchange its research journals with other organizations, primarily foreign universities, and are listed by country. These exchange files contain correspondence regarding publication requests. A highlight of the collection is research notes complied by Edward G. Holley for his biography on Dr. Brown. Holley was Dean of the School of Library Science, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1972-1985) and president of ALA (1974-1975).

Adams, Bertrand R. 1907-2007. Papers, 1927-2007.

Title: Papers, 1927-2007.

This collection contains artwork and correspondence of Bertrand R. Adams. The artwork includes pencil and ink drawings, sketches, and a cartoon drawing for a mural that was never completed. The collection also includes a number of illustrations completed during high school and for the art correspondence course he took in the 1920s. Other artwork includes Christmas cards created by Adams and his wife along with some of the original woodblock carvings use to print the cards. The correspondence contains letters regarding the commission for the Siloam Springs, Arkansas, post office mural. Other correspondence includes letters of rejection and some of a more general nature. There are also several publications which have information about Adams. More information about Betrand and Mary Adams can be found by contacting the Ames Historical Society which received the bulk of their estate. McKee, Eleanor Sandstrom, 1924-. Papers, 1924-2001.

Title: Papers, 1924-2001.

This collection contains materials relating to Professor McKee's personal life. It contains papers, programs, diplomas, teacher's certificates, membership cards, and a World War II war ration book. Additionally, it contains photographs from throughout her life, including portraits of her parents. The collection also contains two high school state music association state contest pins dated 1941, now located in the University Archives Artifact Collection.
