Ruth Starr Rose was an artist whose work was represented at Weyhe Gallery. She was also a friend of Carl Zigrosser and his family. Her frequent and friendly letters to Carl Zigrosser detail the progress of her work, exhibitions, and sales. She also writes about he family life, their mutual friends, her many homes (especially Pickbourne on the Eastern Shore of Maryland), and her thoughts on southern landscape, southern life, spiritualism and entertaining. Ruth Starr Rose did work for the American Artists Group, and travelled in the American West, Mexico and Europe. Most of her letters are undated. Included in the file are exhibition announcements and catalogs. Some. letters are addressed to Florence King, Zigrosser's first wife. Others are addressed to Laura Canadé, an employee of the Weyhe Gallery and Carl Zigrosser's second wife. Some letters from Rose's home are written by Victoria Hutson Huntley.

Subjects covered in Julius J. Lankes' detailed letters include the progress of new work, prices, his printing technique, books and works of art purchased from the Weyhe Gallery, news of his home life, shipments of prints, sales, settling of accounts, ideas to generate sales, competitions and exhibitions Lankes' submitted work to, an autobiographical letter (Oct.8, 1935), his work at Wells College (1932-1939) and the exhibitions he brought there from Weyhe Gallery, his work as drafting for the Federal Government (1943-1950) and his discharge from that job, and the last years of his life. Along with the correspondence are clippings, photographs of the artist and a quantity of works of art. Included in the letters are references to Bolton Brown, R. M. Coates, Rockwell Kent, Charles Burchfield, John Taylor Arms, Robert Frost, Ruth Starr Rose, Wanda Gàg, George Bellows, and Sherwood Anderson.

Prentiss Taylor also took photographs under the name of Baxter Snark. Included in the file is a photograph of Anne Goldthwaite by Snark.
