Negative collection taken by Fargo Forum photographers for use in the newspaper. Organized into four series: People (Negs. 1-432 & Sheets 1-13); Towns (Negs. 433-1115 & Sheets 14-32); Topical (Negs. 1116-2200 & Sheets 33-53) and Aerials (Negs. 2201-2217). Cover a wide variety of topics including, Gov. Fred Aandahl, Baldhill Dam, C. Norman Brunsdale, Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower at the Garrison Dam closure (1953), Peggy Lee (1950), Fargo, floods, Mandan Refinery, Nonpartisan League conventions (1952-1956), oil, Sheyenne River, sugarbeets, Theodore Roosevelt National Memorial Park, Pres. Harry S. Truman, Thomas E. Whelan and some taken in Minnesota. Most are only briefly identified.

Jennings's photographic work consists primarily of social scenes, nature, personages and events that were taken for potential publication in the Fargo Forum newspaper. Among the more well-known persons represented are Mark Andrews, Jack Benny, William Guy, Robert Kennedy, William Langer, Arthur Link, Richard Nixon, Olav King of Norway and Bobby Vee. Some of the largest subject headings include accidents, automobiles, barns, Bonanzaville USA, children, farming, Forum Publishing Company, North Dakota State University, railroads, weather and winter scenes. All the prints appear to have been made for photo competitions. Almost none of the negatives have corresponding prints. The finding aid provides subject access to the collection. All identifying information and dates found with the negatives is reflected in the finding aid.

The collection consists of the oral history stories written by school children who conducted interviews with family members. The one page articles were submitted by teachers to The Forum, during the state's centennial. Entries were submitted from schools or individuals from the following North Dakota cities or towns: Aneta, Binford, Bisbee, Bismarck, Fargo, Hannaford, Harwood, Horace, Jamestown, Kenmare, Kulm, Lakota, Larimore, Mayville-Portland, Minto, Montpelier, Oriska, Page, Park River, Sherwood, Valley City, and Wyndmere.
