Title: A system of ethicks. / by the Reverend Mr. Henry Grove. [17--?]

Manuscript volumes of Rev. Henry Grove's System of moral philosophy, published posthumously in 1749. The two volumes appear to be in different hands, though they both contain the same kinds of footnotes and notes about other works to be read in the future. It is possible that v. 1 was transcribed by Rev. Farnham Haskoll, a minister of Taunton, at whose 1733 ordination Grove spoke.

Drafts and fair copies of poems written by Elizabeth Rowe and a portion of a letter written by her to an unknown individual. Signed "Eliz Rowe"p.82. Includes an engraved portrait of Mrs. Rowe pasted to the flyleaf; copies of two poems by Henry More, pp. 288-289, and two poems by Henry Grove, pp. 300-306, in Rowe's hand. Letters to James A. Wickham are tipped onto f. 1, from Thomas Stevenson (2 Aug 1841) and from John Sheppard (16 Apr 1841), both discussing the provenance of the manuscript.
