This is a manuscript volume, presumably in the handwriting of George Robertson, of his autobiography. The handwritten draft with changes, was started in 1858 and concludes in 1870. The autobiography was completed by Robertson's son, Judge Alexander Robertson, and was published posthumously in 1876. Also included in the volume are accounts from George Robertson's law practice (1818-1832).

This two item collection consists of a letter and scrapbook. The letter was written by George Robertson, in Washington City, to his wife in Kentucky. The letter was dated Nov. 26, 1817. In the letter, Robertson discusses meeting the president at the "palace", and a meeting with Henry Clay and Mr. Adams. He closes the letter by saying his wife should hire a cook, and asks her about his sick horse. The scrapbook was an old Morton's Coal ledger that had newsclippings, letters, and original poetry pasted over the pages. On some of the pages, the ledger entries are still ledgible and others did not have anything pasted over them at all. The scrapbook was kept mainly during the 1830's.

This is a manuscript volume, presumably in the handwriting of George Robertson, a member of Congress from Kentucky and twice Chief Justice of the Kentucky Court of Appeals, of his autobiography. Accounts from his private law practice are also in the volume. The autobiography was published posthumously in 1876. The volume contains a longhand draft of the majority of the later publication, begun in 1858 and concluded in 1870. (Robertson's son, Judge Alexander Robertson, finished the book, of which a copy is held in the KHS library.) Many changes are evident, which apparently are all reflected in the published version. The volume also contains accounts apparently kept by Robertson in his law practice from 1818 to 1832.

The Speed Family Papers consist of the papers of the family and descendants of U.S. Attorney General James Speed. The collection begins with material related to the salt industry in early-19th century Kentucky. The Civil War and Reconstruction are covered heavily in the papers of James Speed and Joshua F. Speed, and the postbellum era, particularly its politics, is represented in the papers of John Speed. The twentieth century papers cover a variety of topics including agriculture and nature, World War I, the Korean War, and student experiences at Purdue University and in Australia.
