The complete album contains 96 tintype portraits of men and women; most are identified. The year 1891 has been written inside the front cover. Many of the persons pictured in the album were associated with the University of Colorado, Boulder. The picture of A.T. Henry, Sr. on p. 1 has the word "Pop" written above it; that is the basis for stating that this album belonged to A.T. Henry, Jr. Many of the persons pictured graduated from the State Preparatory School ca. 1890-1894.

Family correspondence, 1852 and undated. Included here is a letter by Lyman to his brother, Richard in Sacramento Valley (Calif.), dated Oct. 20 and Nov. 2-3, 1852, describing gold mining, killing Indians, bringing back an Indian scalp, plenty of wild game, and the destruction of Sacramento by fire. A second, undated letter to Lyman is from William and George Potter, which encourages people to come to Calif., and notes that whites are killing "diggers" (what local Indians were derogatively called by whites) by the hundred. A brief abstract of the letters (1 p., copy) is also included.

The papers of this Boston, Mass., lawyer consist primarily of legal papers relating to many different cases he worked on, some with his partner George O. Shattuck. Cases were tried in Suffolk County (Mass.) Superior Court and the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts, among others. The largest number of papers concern cases involving debt, but other cases include collisions between vessels; interdiction under the Non-Importation Acts; breach of contract; contested cargoes; insurance issues; an extended probate case concerning the estate of William Potter of Brunswick, Maine; the contested ownership of a vessel; a contested lease; the transfer of patent rights; a pternity suit; a case involving abuse of a seaman; and some miscellaneous papers. A complete list of vessels will be found in the collection register. Shipbuilder Donald McKay of East Boston, Mass., is named in several cases.
