Arranged in four groups: I. Vocal scores (36). II. Scripts (2). III. Promptbooks (8). IV. Dialogue parts (26). A collection of vocal scores, scripts, promptbooks, and dialogue parts for Bernicat's comic opera "François les Bas Bleus," performed for the first time in Paris at the Théâtre des Folies-Dramatiques, November 8, 1883. Except for two copies of Enoch frères et Costellat's vocal score in French, the remainder of the collection is in English and includes a translation (published by Enoch & Sons of London) entitled "François the Radical" and an American adaptation, "Fantine," by B.E. Woolf and R.M. Field (published by Oliver Ditson, Boston, 1884). This version also includes musical additions by Woolf. The American version was first produced at the Boston Museum. Scripts and promptbooks correspond to the American adaptation. The script (by Woolf and Field) includes five numbers in vocal score. Most promptbooks (or "stage manager's guides") are versions of either the Woolf and Field script (copyrighted by them in 1884) or of the Ditson vocal score. Most of the promptbooks include property plots and contain detailed stage direction in manuscript. Copy 1 bears the notation "E. F. Moon, Grand Opera House, Toronto, Ont." Copy 2 bears the signature of Arthur Bell. Copies 6-8 of the promptbooks and the dialogue parts are for yet another adaptation entitled "Victor the Blue Stocking." Characters vary from the other productions.

The promptbook is in English and is manuscript.
