It also contains interior and exterior photos of the many Jones and Laughlin mills, warehouses and office buildings all over the United States. Transportation images include tugboats, barges and railroads carrying Jones and Laughlin fininshed products and raw materials.

The Crawford Family papers are comprised of correspondence, photographs, documents, and postal history relating to the family of Joel and George Walker Crawford of Columbia, Hancock, and Early Counties, Georgia and later discusses travel to Texas. Other correspondents include Charles, Martha, and Sara Crawford, and Eli Benton. The letters also include information of a gift of 16 slaves from Joel Crawford to his son Charles. The contents of the letters include advice and counsel on establishing a legal office, travel, and business prospects. The collection includes photos of Joel, Charles and Martha Crawford and cancelled stamps and envelopes from Georgia and Florida.

Title: Records 1858-1953 1950-1953.

Records include correspondence, company histories, manuals and other miscellaneous items generated and collected by the Public Relations Dept. of Jones and Laughlin. They primarily document Jones and Laughlin's centennial in 1953 and the work done in preparation for the event. Original records include an account book (1919-1920), letterbook (1897-1901), 19th century advertisements and a 1920 training manual for sales agents.

Alabama. State Council of Defense (1917-1919). Program administrative files, 1917-1919.

Title: Program administrative files, 1917-1919.

The Alabama Council of Defense was responsible for tracking and coordinating war time activity in the state. The program administrative files result from the council's activities and contain correspondence, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, reports, circulars, and lists. The files record the war time activities in both the white and African-American communities and cover a variety of topics ranging from retail deliveries to educating troops about venereal diseases. Some council activities recorded in this series include the tracking of Ala. soldiers who went AWOL from the U.S. military; a literacy program devoted to teaching drafted men how to read; a campaign for livestock conservation; and a movement for strict enforcement of vagrancy ordinances. Applications for non-war construction projects can be found in the files as well as job applications for the American Red Cross. In addition, the activities of all war relief agencies in the state are covered in the correspondence. Some council members whose correspondence is included in the files include W.C. Agee, Albert P. Bush, J.F. Dugger, Fred H. Gormley, Lloyd M. Hooper, George Lang, and Oscar Wells.
