This collection consists of United States government posters used in the liberty loan and victory loan drives as well as posters and other propaganda material relating to the British, Canadian, French, Italian, and Russian governments, all of which are contained in the book The Poster, War Souvenir Edition. Also included in the book are copies of letters and portraits of Woodrow Wilson, William G. McAdoo, Carter Glass, and Herbert Hoover. In addition, the collection contains a book of World War I cartoons entitled Cartoons on Saving, depicting various endorsements to purchase war savings stamps. Finally, there are ten unbound photographs showing war posters actually in use on display.

Other correspondents include Edward Bok, Grover Cleveland, William McAdoo, Whitelaw Reid, Frederic Remington, and Ida M. Tarbell.

Collection consists of three series related to different members of the Lee Family of Cumberland County, New Jersey. The papers of James and Thomas Lee (c.1803-1835) consist of receipts, correspondence, bills of sale, and contracts regarding a number of ships owned by the Lee family. The collection includes papers pertaining to the schooners Two Brothers, Cincinnati, Eliza Young, Transport, Deborah, and Industry and the sloops Lorana & Jane, Ploughboy, Betsey, and James of Philadelphia, as well as the brig Ocean. Papers from some unidentified ships are also in this collection. Francis B. Lee's letters (1896) regard the rescue of the crews of two ships, the American bark S.R. Bearce and the schooner Carrie A Buckman by Capt. Harry Chester of the tug Gladisfen off the coast of Bermuda. The final series of the collection consists of clippings from New York newspapers, related to a variety of Navy, merchant and pleasure ships. Of special interest are a number of clippings about the Columbia's speed trial.
