This series contains correspondence, pamphlets, and other materials documenting the activities which promoted physical fitness in one region supervised by the Office of Physical Fitness (OPF). The records of New York City Regional Supervisor Boris Von Arnold and Ethel T. Kohlberg, Principal Supervisor, Women's Industrial Program, constitute the bulk of this series.

Drawings, specifications, reports, flight records, maintenance and repair manuals, handbooks, catalogs, Federal Aviation Administration certificates, correspondence, proposals, contracts, press releases, bills of sale, pilot handbooks, articles, clippings, engineering memoranda, modelers' plans, films, and photographs pertaining to products designed and built by Grumman, largely aircraft, but also including hydrofoils, missiles, lunar module, satellites, trucks, space shuttle, and canoes. Materials concern design, production, testing, sales, delivery, and conversions. Some files are for designs that never reached production.

Wharton School. Industrial Research Unit. Records, 1941-2001 (bulk, 1968-1988).

Title: Records, 1941-2001 (bulk, 1968-1988).

The records consist of surveys, notes, interviews and background materials for the studies produced by the Industrial Research Unit and its predecessor from 1941 to 1990 and collected and maintained by Herbert R. Northrup. The bulk of the files are from the 1970s and 1980s, but there are also a few files from the Center for Human Resources and its first director, Peter Cappelli. Fininshed studies and publications of the Unit are catalogued in the Imprints Dept. The OSHA files deal with the impact of chemical exposure in the aerospace and chemical industries, and of noise and dust exposure in the textile industry. Series V consists of questionnaires for a 1991 survey conducted for the National Association of Manufacturers on the shortage of skilled workers, including questions on training, retraining, hiring practices, turnover rate and orientaion practices.
