Ten letters, 1801-1807, written by William Tayler, a London businessman, to Samuel Relf, editor and owner of the National Gazette of Philadelphia; and ten letters, 1802-1803, written by William Poyntell, a Philadelphia merchant traveling in Europe, to his wife Ann. (William and Ann Poyntell were the parents of Relf's wife, Sarah Poyntell Relf; William Tayler was an uncle of William Poyntell.) The letters were, in fact, news dispatches intended for publication in the Gazette, reporting on current political, military, and naval developments in Europe, or on social and cultural events in England and on the Continent. Included also are handwritten biographical sketches (1972) by Samuel Relf Durand of Samuel and Sarah Relf's daughter Ann Relf Kemper and her husband Bishop Jackson Kemper, Sarah Poyntell Relf, Samuel Relf, Anne Wilcocks Poyntell, and William Poyntell; and photographic copies of portraits by Rembrandt Peale of Samuel Relf and William Poyntell.

The Harold Corsini Photograph Collection contains photographs produced from the 1940s to the 1970s. Approximately 440 projects are represented in print, negative, and slide form. Many jobs for the US Steel Corporation are industrial in content. Other photographs produced for local and national advertising agencies were captured from locations around the country as well as in the studio. All are commercial and creative in content. Photographs produced for US Steel artistically represent the essence of the steel industry. From labor to output, and followed by unique advertisements of commercial goods, the culture of the company is widely portrayed. Included are interior and exterior views of steel mills nationwide, depicting machinery, architecture and surrounding landscapes. Employees are creatively portrayed in varying aspects from executive portraits to visual documentaries of steel production. Corsini worked principally with two main advertising agencies: Kellogg Media Group (KMG) and Barton, Durstine & Osborn (BD & O). Photographs were also produced for national and local firms including Iron Age Shoes and Westinghouse. Other notable western Pennsylvania companies that Corsini worked with were Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company (PPG), Alcoa, and H.J. Heinz Company. Photographic advertisements vary from studio-based commercial shots featuring products such as food goods, office equipment, and bath fixtures, to on-site views of architecture and interior design. A small portion of the collection contains personal artistic photographs taken while traveling in India, Thailand, and Egypt highlighting local temples, monuments, and people. Also included are black and white images, taken by Corsini in the Pacific while serving as a WWII correspondent, featuring war aircraft and personnel; as well as unrelated commercial portraits and other works.

Kemper, Jackson, 1789-1870. Jackson Kemper papers, 1787-1972.

Title: Jackson Kemper papers, 1787-1972.

Papers, mainly 1801-1870, of Jackson Kemper, the first missionary bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church and the first bishop of Wisconsin, together with papers of the Relf-Poyntell family, to whom Kemper was related by marriage. The collection includes correspondence; church minutes; diaries primarily covering the post-1835 years as a missionary bishop; and lists of sermon subjects, marriages and baptisms performed, notes on religious subjects, and fundraising records pertaining to the General Theological Seminary. In addition, the collection includes biographical information about Kemper; photographs of and related to Kemper, Elizabeth Kemper Adams, and the Adams and Relf families; and the papers of Kemper's two wives, Jerusha Lyman and Ann Relf Kemper; his daughter, Elizabeth Kemper Adams, and various in-laws.
