Handwritten volumes of lecture notes given at the University of Pennsylvania by Professor John F. Frazer on the topics of natural philosophy and the physical sciences. Lecture on natural philosophy given in 1858 and transcribed by C. Ashmead Schaeffer. Lecture on physical sciences given in 1862, transcribed by William A. Schaeffer. Two volumes of lecture notes for Professor Frazer's lectures on the steam engine. One dated 9 April 1863 to 15 June 1863 written in the hand of Howard Wood; the other volume transcribes lectures from 13 April 1864 to 13 June 1864 in the hand of J.M. Power Wallace. Both lectures given at the University of Pennsylvania to the junior class.

Alan Wood Steel Company. Records, 1728-1950 (bulk 1869-1937).

Title: Records, 1728-1950 (bulk 1869-1937).

The records of the Alan Wood Steel Company and its predecessors document its evolution from a small personal business to a medium-sized steel producer. They consist primarily of minutes, account books, property records and order books. There is relatively little correspondence. Most of the post-1937 records were retained by the company.
