Wills' Board of Trade files are arranged by subject and include correspondence, reports, blueprints, 1916-1954, a minutebook of Annual Meetings, 1873-1942, cashbook, 1894-1917; the remainder of the records include personal correspondence and notes, 1933-1953; scrapbooks, 1894-1919; an office diary for 1942 and some oversize maps prepared for the Committee on Decadence and for railroad consolidation projects. Tucker's section reflects his position as secretary of the Board of Harbor Commissioners (1887-1897), but also his post as secretary and assistant treasurer of the Board of Trade, member of the Board of Port Wardens (1873-1897), secretary of the National Board of Trade (1895-1911), secretary of the Philadelphia Bourse (1890-1896) and Masterwarden of the Port (1897-1907). His records consist of correspondence of the Harbor Commission, 1878-1927; correspondence, testimony, and other records of the Committee on Decandence, 1889-1893; Bourse related materials, 1892-1917; Board of Trade, 1911-1930 and personal files, 1889-1928.

Tucker, William Robinson, 1845-1930. Correspondence, 1882-1898.

Title: Correspondence, 1882-1898.

Major business correspondents are C. A. McDowell and W. S. McDowell of Nicholas Ashton and Sons, Liverpool, salt proprietors; William A. Hazard of Francis D. Moulton and Company, New York, salt merchants; and Samuel Thompson's Nephew and Company, New York, importers of burlaps, bagging, yarns, etc. The correspondence is also reflective of his involvement in the development of Philadelphia's harbor and commerce. Many letters to Tucker, an avid sportsman, concern various club activities, particularly the League of American Wheelmen and other bicycling associations. There is scattered material from family of routine nature including many notes from his sister Irene H. Clark.
