Also includes papers of Richard Ely (1733-1791); Joseph Ely (1782-1854); Joseph Addison Ely (1847-1927), son of Joseph J. Ely, including account book with J.V. Davison's grocery store, bills and receipts of Hightstown Water Works, articles written by Ely for newspaper publication, and poetry book entitled Ely's Poems (privately printed in 1902); Joseph J. Ely (1869-1951), son of Joseph Addison Ely, including account book recording purchases at Davison's store, funeral notices, tax notices from several municipalities, and papers pertaining to a 1923 New Jersey Supreme Court case in which Ely was involved; and Huldah Ely (1898-1972), teacher and daughter of Joseph J. Ely, including diploma (1920) from New Jersey State Normal School at Trenton and materials relating to her travels and teaching career.
