Platte De Alton Lyman was born to Amasa Lyman and Eliza Partridge Lyman in 1848 along the Platte River. He married Adelia Robison on 18 April 1867 and left for a mission to Great Britain that same year. He married a plural wife, Annie Maude Clark around 1879. He served as president of the European Mission and president of the San Juan Stake. Platte Lyman died in 1901.

Albert Robison Lyman (1880-1973), and his wife Mary Ellen Perkins were the first settlers of Blanding, San Juan, Utah. He wrote an autobiography, poetry and historical biographies.
Albert Robison Lyman was born on 10 January 1880 in Fillmore, Utah to Platte De Alton Lyman and Adelia Robison. He married Mary Ellen Perkins 26 June 1902 in Salt Lake City. She died in May of 1939 and he remarried to Mary's widowed sister, Gladys Perkins, on 24 July 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Albert and his wife Mary were the first settlers of Blanding, San Juan, Utah. He enjoyed writing and learning and wrote an autobiography, poetry, and historical biographies. Albert died 12 November 1973 in Provo, Utah.
Gladys Perkins Lyman was born 5 June 1888 in Teasdale, Wayne, Utah to Sarah Williams and Benjamin Perkins. She died 10 April 1972 in Blanding, San Juan, Utah.
Albert R. Lyman (1880-1973) was a historian and settler of San Juan County, Utah.
Ezekiel Johnson was the son of Joel Hills Johnson. Ezekiel was born in Utah on April 16, 1869, and died on February 25, 1957.

Correspondence and certificates of Lorenzo S. Lyman, plus later family papers. Includes letters from Lorenzo's father, Amasa M. Lyman; his mother, Cornelia E. Lyman; and his brother, Francis M. Lyman. Letters concern the Lyman family and their activities in various locations, including San Bernardino, California; and Fillmore and Parowan, Utah. The letters include references to Brigham Young, Wilford Woodruff, Lorenzo Snow, the St. George Temple, and Utah mining and politics. Letters from Francis M. Lyma reflect his concerns about family genealogy and contain information about his travels as an apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including a visit to Egypt and Palestine in 1902. There is also a copy of a letter from Lorenzo S. Lyman to Francis M. Lyman, stating his feelings toward the Church. Letters from Richard R. Lyman, Francis Lyman Jr., and Albert R. Lyman, to Lorenzo S. Lyman's family after Lorenzo's death, are also included, as are letters of Lorenzo's wife and children. Certificates of Lorenzo S. Lyman's appointments as probate judge and election official in Iron County, Utah, are included. Also includes a copy of Cornelia E. Lyman's patriarchal blessing; a letter from David O. McKay to Lucile Squires, 1959; and a picture of Francis M. Lyman, his wife Rhoda A. Lyman, and his brother Platte D. Lyman.

Oral history interviews with Albert R. and Gladys Perkins Lyman, conducted by Charles Peterson, Gary Shumway and Stanley Bronson on 4 February 1970 and 23 August 1973 for the Utah State Historical Society and the California State University, Fullerton Oral History Program. Albert and Gladys relate their experiences as the first settlers of Blanding, Utah. A lot of the discussion includes experiences with and stories of the of Native Americans in the area. Albert is the sole interviewee in the 1973 transcript as his wife had passed away by this time. Bound manuscript, 38 pages, index included.
