This large collection primarily centers on Stokes' administration and research at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. A Philadelphia pediatrician, Stokes had many interests in the areas of infectious diseases, public health and environmental control, and all are reflected in this collection. There is a long series covering his work at the Children's Hospital, including individual correspondence from many staff members.
